The main collector for this area, is the Costanero which runs parallel to the coastand he directly unloads the water-drainage of the area to the sea by means of a pipe of 1270 mm(50”) of diameter. He has an area of drainage of 1.929,50 Has.The Costanero Collector begins in the Domodossola park, with 14”Ø, crosses the leveeof Miraflores where by means of pumping he is united with the Schell Collector, of 21”Ø and gatherswater-drainages of the Limatambo Collector of 24”Ø. In the Av. Of the Army the water-drainages riseby means of a pumping camera. It intercepts to the Salaverry Collector of Ø 21” and the sectionswaters under the Collector Navy, of the Collectors N° 12 of Ø 28” and Sucre Collector ofØ 18”. This division obeys atopographical conditionses and city-planning, because the high part, unlike the loss, hasan irregular topography. The low part is uniform and is conformed by areasagriculturists and the Airport the International Jorge Chávez, and finishes in the coastal zone.Six of these eight collectors are intercepted in the line of the interceptor. Bothrest arrive directly at the Taboada beach through derivations that alsothey comprise of works of the Interceptor.Operation of the SystemIn the Taboada beach they meet the interceptor, the derivation of Comas-Chillo'n and the lineof Sarita impulsion Colony, in the camera of grates that takes the name of the beach.Along with the line from unloading to the sea, this one is full stop of the interceptor.The interception begins in the Costanero collector (Ø 1500 mm.) with a camerainterceptor of two floodgates to turn aside the water-drainage to the sea in case ofemergency.The second interception point happens with the derivation of the collector Navy (Ø1100 mm), in the crossing of the avenues Navy and Insurgents.Soon the interceptor will catch the water-drainages of collector 10 (Ø 1200 mm) and the 19 (Ø 1350mm), in the avenues Argentina and Morales Duárez, respectively. This last pointone is underneath the dock of containment of the Rímac river. Like these two collectorsthey go to the Centennial collector –y this one, finally, to mar– the intercepting camerasthey have the possibility of avoiding the interception, in case of emergency.Like in the 2,8 kilometers constructed by the method of Pipe Jacking or “empuje oftubos” in the high part, that concludes here, the interceptor will cross a river Rímac underneathof its bed.From here, the low part of the interceptor begins. The original outline, withinAirport the International Jorge Chávez, was changed by one parallel. To the height ofairport is intercepted the 6 collectors and Bocanegra; this last one needs to berelocated and it will be made by the avenue Elmer Faucett to avoid the section that happens throughairport, closely together of the surface.The interception with collector 6 is particularly important, because here it is hadinstalled a floodgate to protect the airport. If this one is closed, the overflow ofemergency installed in the first mailbox after the river will begin to receivedammed water-drainages and will lead them towards the camera of unloading in the river.The Centennial collector, who at the moment unloading to the sea, will arrive at the camera of gratesin the pumping station Sarita Colony, and there, line of impulsion ofsame name, until the Taboada beach. The camera of grates in this beach, therefore,it will not take care of the water-drainages originating of this collector.The collector Chillón Commas arrives at the camera of grates of the Taboada beach througha derivation.
